My Reversal Story: Home at last

Well, we made it home finally.

We had a horrible trip home.  The people at DFW are retards and that is all I am saying.  I came home in a lot of pain.  More than I was in the day of surgery.  Still not feeling all that hot.

I am healing good.  I have parts of my incision that are healed up, parts are still scabbed up.

Good news is, my libido is back.  Bad news is, I still have over a week before I can do anything about it.  My desire is back full force.  I have not felt like this since I was way younger.  It is nice.

I have an appointment with my doctor on April 7th to get checked out.  We will see if I get the go ahead to start trying for a baby then!

My husband is so cute.  He was looking up on the internet yesterday about ways to increase his sperm count, what not to do when trying for a baby, etc.  He said he was embarrassed so he waited till I passed out from the pain pills and went surfing.  We had a long talk about what he found, what he already knew, what I knew, and what we were going to do once we get the green light to start trying!

Well, pain pill is kicking in.  Time to go beddy bye!

My Reversal Story: Day 4

I am doing good. I am a little sore but still feeling pretty good. The gas is what is hurting and putting pressure on my abdomen. I have been able to get up a move around quite a bit yesterday and today.

I have been really groggy and tired from the pain medication and I can definitely tell when it starts to wear off.

The surgery itself went wonderful. I have 5 cm on the right side and 5 1/2 cm on the left side. She said that from what was taken out when I had the tied and what she had to cut off to put them back together that I probably started with tubes that were about 8 cm long.

I am so thankful that I went to this doctor. She is an amazing, caring doctor. She prayed with me and Brandon before they took me to the OR and she held my hand as they were putting me under.

The nurses at the hospital said that I was the first reversal patient to NOT ask for pain medication after getting out of the recovery room. I guess that my high pain tolerance has come in handy now!

Thank you every one that prayed for me. They helped out!

My Reversal Story: Day 3 Part 2

Dr. Rogers did a wonderful job. I am not in any real pain. Just hurting a little, a little sore and very tired.

Dr. Rogers says that my tubes are actually pretty long for me. She estimated that before my TL that my tubes were only around 8 cm long. The doctor that did the TL did not take much from my tubes at all.

Dr. Rogers said she give my left tube and A+ and my right tube a B. The right tube was removed pretty close to the uterus, so it was a little more difficult for her to put together. The left tube she said was awesome and near perfect. I only had scar tissue on the right side and even that was minimal.

My REversal Story: Day 3 Part 3

My husband is glad that my pain is minimal and is being handled well with the Darvacet Dr. Rogers gave me. She also gave me a prescription after the surgery for Lortab in case the Darvacet wasn't working. Hubby is going to Walgreens to get that prescription filled so that I can take one before I go to bed tonight. I want to make sure that I am good and knocked out tonight while I sleep so that I don't move around much.

I still do not have a ton of pain. I have some gas pain in my mid-back, but I am taking gas meds for that and it is helping some.

I have not been able to see my incision yet because she did not put that clear wrap on it because I am sensitive to the adhesive in bandages. I have a big gauze pad over my incision and can't change it until tomorrow afternoon. Dr. Rogers says that she made a smaller cut than she had originally thought she was going to have to make. Which is good news for me! She said the incision is around 2 1/2 inches long, which is much better than the 3 or 4 she had planned!

Dr. Rogers is an absolute miracle worker. I am so glad that I chose to go to her! For those of you on the fence about her, I can tell you I highly recommend her!!!

I am bored and can't get to sleep again. I am waiting on hubby to come back with my prescription and some ice cream. I decided I was going to eat ice cream for dinner tonight. Hubby is really going above and beyond helping me. He helped me out of my clothes earlier and into my PJs and has been helping me go to the restroom when I need to. I am truly blessed to have him!

I am glad that we are not leaving until Saturday. I think I will be feeling much better by then and it will be easier to travel!

My Reversal Story: Day 3 Part 1

I got about an hour of sleep. I am up and most of the way ready to go. Gotta brush my teeth and hair, slip on my shoes and head out the door.

Just trying to keep myself busy and away from a cigarette.

Can't smoke.

Must.

Not.

Smoke.

We will be leaving in about thirty minutes for the hospital.

I am scared.

I am thirsty.

I have BAD heartburn and can't take anything for it.

But I am ready. I am ready to be normal again. I am ready to have my fertility back.

I cried like a baby last night. I told my husband that I was scared that I would not wake up. I am scared that I am going to go under and leave my husband and kids behind. Scared that this will all be for nothing. Scared that we will never conceive.

Scared. Period.

I talked to my daughter and my son yesterday. My son is clueless about what is really going on, as any 5 year old should be! My daughter on the other hand is scared. I talked to their grandmother (who they are staying with while we are gone) and she said that my daughter is worried to death about me. She has called every day since we have been gone to talk to me.

Well, off to brush my teeth and hair so we can get on up outta here!

I will be back on as soon as I feel up to it to post about the rest of today. Might be a few days though.

My Reversal Story: Day 2

I had my pre-op appointment today and pre-registered at the hospital.

I LOOOOOOVE Dr. Rogers.  She is soooo sweet and personable.  She talked with us for a while, gave us a map of Jackson, and went over everything that was going to happen tomorrow during the surgery.  She even tried to help us find a Wells Fargo bank here in Jackson!  All I can say is WOW!

I have to go in tomorrow at 5:45.  The surgery is supposed to start around 7:45 and I should be out of surgery and in recovery around 10:15 or so.  As soon as I am able to eat and drink a little and go pee, they will let me leave.

At this time tomorrow I will be whole again!!!!!!!  WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!

My Reversal Story: Day 1

Well, we are safe in Jackson, TN tonight after a rather eventful and stressful day.

It all started out great.  We got on the plane this morning and got to Dallas without hitting a flock of birds (Hooray!).  I did get sick and throw up because there was so much turbulence when we were going to land.

We ate while waiting in DFW and went exploring because they have added some new stuff in there!

We went to our gate for our flight to Memphis and waited for a while.

Well, the time for us to start boarding our plane came and there was NO ONE AT THE COUNTER!!  We had to go to another gate and ask the ticket agent what was going on and found out that our flight was CANCELED.  We looked at the prompters and it was still showing OUR FLIGHT AS ON TIME!

We got the LAST tickets for the very next flight to Memphis.

I was pissed.  We had tickets to go to Graceland reserved.  We were going to have some fun on the only free day we would have this whole week.  My husband called the Graceland ticket office (I couldn't.  At this point I was crying I was so pissed and upset) and got all but $5 of the money we spent on the tickets refunded.  We did not make it in time to make the last tour of Graceland.

I did take some pics while we drove by, so I have something to show for going to Memphis.

We drove the hour and a half from Memphis to Jackson.  It was a great drive.  I have never seen grass as green as it is here.  And there is water EVERYWHERE!!!!!!  And the trees are huge and EVERYWHERE!!!  Such a complete opposite of New Mexico!!!!

We go tomorrow at noon (CST) for my pre-op appointment with the doctor and then have to go to the hospital to pre-register and get blood work done.

Writer's Workshop: My new friend

Got this lovely prompt from Mama Kat over at Mama's Losin' It .
The Prompts:
1.) I used to think...
2.) List ten things you can do in three minutes.
3.) Describe a time you allowed your child to do something that you normally would not let slide.
4.) I want to become friends with...
5.) What are you currently fascinated with?

I am choosing to do #4, I want to become friends with.....

And away we goooooo.

I want to become friends with Johnny Depp.  Really.  I do!  I think we would fast become best buds and do everything together.....and I do mean EVERYTHING.

We would do each others hair, talk about how much we just LLOOVVEE each other, have lunch, go shopping, and then in an awkward, but oh so wonderful moment, he would kiss me.

Ahhhh, I can see it now.

We would become one of those lovely, hot, sweaty "friends with benefits" and my husband would soooo be ok with it, because in this little fantasy world, his new friend would be Jessica Biel.

We would all have the grandest time together!

Well, at least we would in my little fantasy world.  I could just eat that man alive he is so yummy!!!  Who agrees with me here?

Check out this super-yummy pic of the sexiest man alive:

Ok, I think I am done now.  Whew, did it get hot in here?  Hmmm....gotta go take a cold shower now!

Writer's Workshop: I can do it now!!!!

It's that time again!  Writer's Workshop from Mama Kat over at Mama's Losin' It .  Here they are:
The Prompts:
1.) Discuss an intense game of Pictionary that you spent most of Saturday night arguing with your family about, only to log in to your email account two days later to find 35 emails between said family regarding aformentioned game and rules.

2.) Tell about a time you hurt somebody that still bothers you to this day.
3.) The one that got away....spill it.
4.) What inspired you? Write about a time when you were impassioned to write.
5.) What happened in the last year? Write about something you can do now that you couldn't do a year ago.
6.) Write about the event that was the end of your childhood

Well, I decided to do #5 because I cannot think of anything to do for the rest.  Go figure!

Now this is supposed to be something I can do now that I could not do a year ago, it will be, but I have to add in something I will be able to do in a month because of something I have been able to do in the past year.  Do you understand what I'm saying?  Ok, on to the post.

For those of you that do not know my situation, I will give you a little background info so that you can understand the rest with ease!

It all started about 5 1/2 years ago when I made the decision that I was going to have my tubes tied after I gave birth to my youngest child (with whom I was pregnant with at the time).  I knew at that time I did not want to have more children and especially not with my husband at the time (who, by the way, is now my ex-husband).  And if you have read any previous posts, you can understand why I would not want to!  So, the day after my son was born, November 13, 2003, I went into surgery and came out a sterilized 22 year old woman.  At that time, I was ok with my choice.  I did not have to worry about another oops baby and another mouth to feed.  It was what I HAD to do at the time.

Little did I know what I had done to myself.  I had no idea at the time I had this *horrible* procedure done that it would completely mess up my body.  I did not know that my periods would double in time and rate of flow.  I had no idea that I would go through bouts of depression for no reason at all.  I had no idea that it would make my libido dive down to almost non-existent.

I had no idea that I would end up divorced from my husband and end up finding the absolute LOVE of my life.  I had no clue that I would want to have another child with this wonderful man.

Ok, well, that is just a little bit of my background so that what is coming will make more sense now!

Well, in the past year I have been doing TONS of research into options so that my husband and I can have a child together.

It has been a LONG road and in November I finally found some answers and some options.  I found a wonderful support group for women JUST LIKE ME! Fit To Be Untied is an online support group for women with sterilization regret!  I found so much information, support and understanding!

Thanks to the ladies at FTBU I found the doctor that will be putting my tubes back together and making me a WHOLE WOMAN again!

I would have not been able to say that a year ago.  A year ago, my husband and I were just TALKING about how nice it would be to be able to have a baby.

This year, we are talking about the surgery that is in two weeks to fix me.

This year we are talking about trying to conceive a baby NEXT MONTH!!

This year I will be a whole woman and able to have a child with the love of my life.

This year my prayers were heard and answered!

This year has been a great year!

***If you are thinking of having your tubes tied, please read  this first.   Don't make the same mistake I did.  Be informed***

Happy Freaking Birthday to me

Well, it is my birthday today and I am NOT having a good one.  I have a sick 5 year old that is puking about every thirty minutes.  YIPEE.  NOT!

This has happened every year for about the last 4 years.  A sick kid ON MY BIRTHDAY!

I am not going to celebrate my birthday anymore.  We are just going to skip it.  I'll just stay 28 forever. K?

Writer's Workshop: Don't Hurt Me

It is time for the Writer's workshop from Mama Kat at Mama's Losin' It.  I chose the one about words that hurt me.  This should be interesting.

Where to start?

HMMMM....I know...how about every word my ex-husband ever said to me?

Things like:

"You lazy bitch where is my dinner?"

"Why the hell is the house not clean?"

"What the fuck have you been doing all day?"

"Look at your fat ass, can you get any fatter?"

I'm not going to go any further because that is the past and he is getting Karma coming back out the ass right now! LOL!

Calling me fat will do it every time.  Stupid does it too.  Saying I don't give a shit about my kids will elicit an ass whooping (it hurts me too).

All of these bother me because I lived with being told these for 7 years.  I am none of these, never was, never will be.

Call me a bitch all you want, I don't care, just don't say these things to me EVER.  I can be vicious when made to feel bad!

***Note: I do not do mine in the microwave because my microwave is not big enough for the size of bowl needed for this recipe.
